FAQs
General information
-
Where can I fit ErgoMove?
The modular ErgoMove systems can be flexibly attached to transport equipment, machines and systems of all kinds. For an overview of mobility solutions that have already been implemented, see our Success Stories.
Basically, ErgoMove is suitable for attachment to any load to be moved. Contact us to solve your individual logistical challenge.
-
What does an ErgoMove set contain?
An ErgoMove set consists as standard of an operating unit including power supply and control unit as well as an drive unit consisting of one or two electrically driven fixed castors. The accessories can be individually selected to suit the respective application and are therefore optionally available.
-
What is the difference to electric pallet trucks?
ErgoMove systems are electric drive systems consisting of an operating and drive unit. ErgoMove systems can be used to develop customized transport systems that make it possible to move even oversized loads ergonomically and safely.
An electric pallet truck, on the other hand, is designed for transporting standardized loads, such as Euro pallets. If the dimensions deviate, an electric pallet truck quickly reaches its functional limits.
The function of the ErgoMove components is to eliminate any physical strain when pulling and pushing. The other functions of an application (such as a lifting function) depend on the transport device, the machine or the system into which ErgoMove is integrated.
-
What is the maximum permissible total load of the ErgoMove series?
The maximum permissible total load is determined by the drive and braking power of the ErgoMove systems. It is not defined by the maximum load capacity of the installed castors. This can certainly be higher.
Applications that exceed the maximum permissible total load are carried out at your own risk. With loads that are greater than the total load permitted for the electric drive system, the braking distances increase into an unacceptable range and safe transportation of goods can no longer be guaranteed.
-
Where can I find the technical data for the individual ErgoMove systems?
The technical data for our standard systems can be found in our brochure. You can download it here.
For further questions about our systems we are at your disposal at any time .
-
What type of sensors were installed in the hand detection system?
The sensors for hand detection are capacitive sensors.
The sensors detect a change in the electrostatic field caused by the operator's hand and thus enable safe operation of the electric drive systems. In systems with a dead man's brake, movement is only possible with activated hand detection, which prevents uncontrolled movements. Releasing the handholds causes the system to brake and come to a standstill. -
Do I need a CE declaration?
ErgoMove systems are an incomplete machine according to § 2 g) Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC. By integrating ErgoMove systems into a transport device, they become part of a complete machine according to § 2 a).
Complete machines require operating instructions and risk assessment according to § 5 (1) a) & c).
The assembly instructions supplied with each ErgoMove set describe the intended use (electrically operated and load-bearing industrial trucks) as the basis for the operating instructions you have created for the complete machine. The safety equipment is based on the intended use guidelines and meets their requirements. The assembly instructions can be downloaded from our partner portal . If you have any further questions about CE declarations we will be happy to advise you.
Customizations and accessories
-
Can the software and hardware of the systems be customized for me?
A large number of customizations of the software and hardware of the systems are possible.
We will be happy to analyze your individual logistical challenge and work with you to develop the appropriate solution concept from the ErgoMove modular solution kit.
-
Can the speeds of our electric drive systems be individually adjusted?
With all ErgoMove systems, it is always possible to set individual parameters such as the speeds individually.
Contact us to coordinate your individual parameterization.
-
Can the IP protection ratings of ErgoMove systems be increased?
The use of ErgoMove systems in wet / humid environments depends heavily on the individual application conditions, which components of the systems come into contact with water and in what form. Please contact us to discuss the suitability of the systems for your application.
If an increase in the IP protection class of the system or individual components is required, design adjustments (e.g. the addition of additional seals) must be made. These can also be made on the trolley side if necessary. Contact us so that together we can find the right solution for you.
-
Do the castors have to have foot protection?
According to DIN EN ISO 3691-5 Article 4.10.1 and DIN EN 1757-3 Article 5.3.2, wheels and castors on pedestrian-operated industrial trucks must only have foot protection on the wheels or castors if they extend beyond the contour of the trolley.
Equipping the castors with foot protection or equipping a fully assembled trolley with a protective apron is, however, always recommended. The retrofittable foot guard is optionally available depending on the system.
Operation
-
Is it possible with ErgoMove to use one control unit flexibly for several drive units?
The SWITCH&MOVE solutions, in which the drive unit remains permanently installed on the transport device, but the operating unit can be flexibly exchanged between the transport devices.
-
Can the electric drive systems also be used on inclines?
The use of ErgoMove systems on inclines is only possible after individual consultation and on the basis of application-specific empirical tests. The maximum possible inclines can vary depending on the trolley dimensions, load distribution, floor conditions, ramp length, etc.
Contact us with your individual logistical challenge. As part of the solution design, the suitability of the systems can be verified using a prototype.
-
What is the maximum distance or number of journeys possible with our electric drive systems?
In principle, the maximum driving distance of our electric drive systems depends on a variety of conditions such as the starting distance, ground conditions, payload, driving speed, operating temperature, etc. In practice, experience has shown that the capacity of the battery does not represent a limitation in terms of frequent journeys and long distances in the majority of applications.
All systems have (as standard or with corresponding accessories) the option of using exchangeable batteries, which can be replaced within a few seconds. This ensures the continuous availability of the ErgoMove systems.
Contact us with your individual logistical challenge so that we can provide you with reference points for the maximum travel distances or number of journeys for your application based on test and empirical values.
Energy supply
-
Can exchangeable batteries of other brands or other sizes also be used with ErgoMove?
No. The system-specific defined standard rechargeable batteries have both the necessary currents (short-term/permanent) and a battery management system, which is essential for the safety of the ErgoMove.
Other battery types or brands either offer too little current, which negatively affects the drive and braking forces of the motors, or do not have a battery management system and are also incompatible with the ErgoMove systems in terms of the interfaces.
-
What are the charging times for the batteries of the respective systems?
EM500 / EM1000 / EM1000T / EM2000P / ErgoBoost: Charging 0-100 % of two batteries in 100 min with dual charger.
EM2000 / EM4000: Charging 0-95 % in 225 min, charging 95-100 % in 60 min.
Reference values without guaranteeAll systems have (as standard or with corresponding accessories) the option of using exchangeable rechargeable batteries, which can be replaced within a few seconds. This ensures the continuous availability of the ErgoMove systems.
