Efficient transport for agricultural machinery
ErgoMove replaces manual towing vehicle in double rake production
The customer
PÖTTINGER Landtechnik is one of the world's leading manufacturers of machinery for grassland management, soil preparation, seed drilling and digital agricultural technology. The company was looking for a flexible and safe solution for moving its heavy machines between stations on the double rake production line even more efficiently.
The challenge
In PÖTTINGER's state-of-the-art production hall, efficiency is crucial – but so are safety and ergonomics. Until recently, the large double rakes were moved through the production stations by two employees using a manual towing vehicle. To optimise the process, a precise, controllable, power-assisted solution was sought that could be seamlessly integrated into existing workflows.
Our solution
In close cooperation between PÖTTINGER and Blickle, a prototype of the towing vehicle with the ErgoMove 2000P electric drive system was developed in combination with the Ergonomics Cockpit with force sensors. The ergonomic control system ensures effortless manoeuvring, even in confined spaces. After a six-month test phase under real production conditions, it was clear that the solution was a success. Operators and management were equally impressed – not only by the handling, but also by the safety and smooth integration into the production process.
A few minor optimisations were implemented during the test phase: the software was adapted to specific requirements and a toggle switch was used instead of a key switch. Four optimised systems are now in permanent, trouble-free operation. The compact towing vehicle with ErgoMove enables the heavy double rake to be transported easily by just one person. Thanks to the long battery life and the uncomplicated battery change, the system is permanently ready for use and optimally integrated into the production process.
