Magna Electronics increases ergonomics and efficiency with Blickle ErgoMove
Award-winning trolley concept relieves employees and optimises material flow
The customer
Smooth material transport is a key success factor in production at Magna Electronics, a leading automotive supplier.
The challenge
However, the previous manually operated trolleys posed increasing challenges for employees. A great deal of effort was required, especially when manoeuvring heavy trolleys. In addition, there was a desire to transport larger quantities of material per journey in order to reduce internal transport processes. At the same time, the solution had to be flexible enough to be able to access narrow pick-up and drop-off points without any problems. The requirements for a new solution were therefore clear: higher transport capacity, better ergonomics, maximum manoeuvrability - and all without compromising on safety.
Our solution
Together with Blickle, Magna developed a customised solution: the decision was made in favour of the ErgoMove 500 electric drive system, combined with a specially adapted trolley superstructure. Blickle supported the integration by selecting the appropriate wheels and control components so that the solution could be precisely customised to the production conditions on site. The result is impressive across the board. The electric drive assistance of ErgoMove 500 significantly reduces the effort required to move the trolleys and enables precise manoeuvring - even when fully loaded or in confined spaces. Employees benefit from a noticeable reduction in strain, which has a direct impact on their health and satisfaction. At the same time, transport capacity has been increased by an impressive 20 percent, which means that production peaks can be cushioned much better.
The result
The solution was not only met with enthusiasm internally: the project was honoured by Magna as "Idea of the Quarter" - a clear sign of the innovative strength and added value of the collaboration with Blickle. The combination of smart technology and ergonomic design ensures more efficient processes, reduces the risk of downtime and makes the workplace safer and more productive in the long term.
