Engineering Design and Supplies Ltd (EDS) is a recognised specialist for customised lifting and transport systems in demanding industrial environments. With innovative engineering solutions, EDS helps companies to make their production processes safer, more efficient and more ergonomic.

Heavy assemblies weighing up to 3.5 tonnes and spanning up to five metres have to be transported in the end customer's production area in the mechanical engineering sector - a task that requires precision, safety and maximum ergonomics. The cramped conditions in the production hall and the dense traffic of personnel and machines make it difficult to use forklift trucks and other large means of transport. Previously, the parts were either moved manually or transported using forklift trucks - a time-consuming, labour-intensive and dangerous procedure. EDS's customer is therefore looking for a solution that offers an ergonomic, safe and space-saving alternative and at the same time enables intuitive operation.

The customised solution: an electrically driven heavy-duty transport trolley developed by EDS together with Blickle. The centrepiece is the ErgoMove 4000 electric drive system, which has been seamlessly integrated into the individually designed trolley. The electric drive, steering and brake support make it possible to move large and heavy loads effortlessly and precisely - even in confined spaces. Thanks to its compact design, the trolley can be manoeuvred easily in narrow production aisles. The intuitive user interface ensures that even inexperienced users can control the trolley safely and efficiently.

With the new transport solution, EDS's customer benefits from a significant increase in safety, ergonomics and efficiency: heavy assemblies can now be moved easily and without physical strain, significantly reducing the risk of injury for employees. The electric support eliminates the need for additional machines such as forklift trucks, which not only saves space but also reduces costs. The intuitive controls ensure that even complex transport tasks can be completed quickly and safely. Overall, the solution has led to a noticeable increase in productivity and a reduction in downtime.
