Ergonomics of the highest standard

Reinhold Beck Maschinenbau GmbH has been developing ergonomic work equipment for the trades and industry for decades. The portfolio includes lifting and work tables, lifting and handling equipment, roller and measuring tracks, as well as systems for glue application and gluing technology. For the transport and processing of large-format panels, a solution was developed in collaboration with Blickle’s ErgoMove business unit that is characterised by perfect manoeuvrability and the highest precision.

At the heart of the application was a specially developed mobile lifter. It is used for transporting, lifting and tilting large-format panels. With a dead weight of 170 kilograms and a load capacity of 120 kilograms, it was clear that additional drive assistance was required.
Until now, robust Blickle steering and pallet truck castors with polyurethane treads had been used. Although these castors were reliable, it was clear that the ergonomics involved in transporting such heavy loads were inadequate. Added to this was a specific design requirement: the front castors on the forks were not allowed to protrude, as they had to fit under a pallet. Moving the drive castors to the operator’s side would, in turn, have significantly impaired manoeuvrability.

The answer to these complex requirements was the use of ErgoBoost, Blickle’s compact electric drive system. Instead of altering the original axle design, ErgoBoost was integrated centrally into the mobile lift – a solution that allows the truck to continue to operate on all four swivel castors. The ErgoBoost electric drive system supports movement precisely without restricting manoeuvrability. This allows even heavy loads to be moved effortlessly and positioned accurately.

By integrating ErgoBoost, Reinhold Beck was able not only to significantly improve the ergonomics of its equipment but also to take its ease of use to a new level. Operators benefit from a significant reduction in physical strain and intuitive handling, whilst the company offers its customers clear added value.
