Flexible use of mobile torque test trolleys

An international manufacturer of precision components for metalworking faced the challenge of changing heavy tools efficiently and precisely in its production process.

An international automotive manufacturer was tasked with making its torque measurement test processes more flexible. To this end, mobile test trolleys were deployed to serve various test benches within the production facility.
The application was characterised by several requirements: the test trolleys had to be transportable so that they could be used flexibly at different locations. At the same time, the tools used weighed up to 300–400 kg. Furthermore, ergonomic operation was crucial, as manually moving the trolleys was becoming increasingly burdensome for staff.

By using ErgoMove® 500, the test trolley was fitted with an electric drive assistance system. The system was supplemented by a rotary encoder, which enables particularly simple and intuitive control.
The solution offers a load capacity of up to 500 kg and is designed for continuous operation. Thanks to replaceable batteries, the trolley can be used round the clock, independent of fixed charging times. At the same time, the system can be integrated into existing trolley concepts with minimal effort.

With the new solution, the test trolleys could be deployed flexibly within the production process, thereby significantly improving the utilisation of the test equipment. The electric assistance enables the trolleys to be moved ergonomically, noticeably reducing the physical load on staff.
The intuitive controls also allow even heavier loads to be positioned precisely and in a controlled manner. The use of replaceable batteries ensures that operations can continue without interruption.

The combination of mobility, electric assistance and ease of use makes the test trolley an efficient solution for flexible testing processes. With ErgoMove® 500, an ergonomic and cost-effective solution has been implemented that integrates seamlessly into existing production environments.
