Regenerative Charging of the Battery in Towing Operation

The ErgoMove 2000T version is also suitable for use in towing operation at speeds up to 16 km/h. It also offers the advantage that the battery recharges through regenerative charging while in towing operation. With regular use and sufficiently long travel distances, the battery charging time is reduced to a minimum.
To prevent damage to the electric drive rollers, the electromechanical parking brakes must be forcibly released during towing operation. For this purpose, the ErgoMove 2000T is equipped with an emergency brake release mechanism.
When installing the kit, the brakes must be connected to the emergency release mechanism.

* The actuator cam and Bowden cables are not included. The cam must be mounted on the drawbar so that the emergency release is activated when the drawbar is in the raised position.

How the Emergency Release Works

When the trailer is coupled to a trailer system, the drawbar is lowered. An actuator cam mounted on the trailer drawbar moves the emergency release plunger. This causes the brakes to open mechanically. The control system is activated during towing operation via the electric coupling switch.

When the tow bar is folded up, the Bowden cables are not under tension and the brakes are mechanically engaged.

When the drawbar is folded down, the Bowden cables are taut and the brakes are mechanically released.
