ErgoMove 1000 makes everyday hospital life easier
Food distribution trolley equipped with electric drive
The customer
The St. Vinzenz Rehabilitation Clinic in Pfronten in the Allgäu region is a privately run healthcare facility that treats patients with musculoskeletal and cardiovascular conditions. In addition to the loving care provided at the clinic, the quality of the food, which is freshly prepared every day, is highly appreciated by patients.
The challenge
Distributing the food with the food distribution trolleys is sometimes very strenuous for the employees. The long routes from the kitchen of the affiliated acute clinic to the rehabilitation clinic and back, which lead over a ramp and sometimes have uneven transitions, make this work even more difficult.
Our solution
The aim was to relieve the strain on hospital staff and make ramp movements more ergonomic and safer. Blickle quickly found the right solution for this application: the ErgoMove 1000 electric drive system. Equipped with the ergonomic cockpit with force sensors, it enables particularly intuitive operation with minimal force. After initial discussions with Blickle, the clinic tested the ErgoMove 1000 extensively on the trolley for four weeks. After this test phase, the clinic staff were delighted: "The food distribution trolley can now be moved with much less effort and with less strain on the back, which makes everyday life easier for the staff," reports Julia Furtenbach, Head of Service at St. Vinzenz Klinik. "The ErgoMove system has enabled us to increase our employee satisfaction and who knows, we might even be able to enter it for a health award in the near future."
