Efficient transportation for agricultural machinery

PÖTTINGER Landtechnik is one of the leading international manufacturers of machinery for grassland cultivation, soil cultivation, seeding technology and digital agricultural technology. The company was looking for a flexible and safe solution for the production line for double rakes in order to move the heavy machines even more efficiently between the stations.

Efficiency is crucial in PÖTTINGER's state-of-the-art production hall - but so are safety and ergonomics. Until recently, the large-format double rakes were moved through the production stations by two employees using a manual towing vehicle. A precise, controllable, power-assisted solution that integrates seamlessly into existing processes was sought for optimization.

In close cooperation between PÖTTINGER and Blickle, a prototype of the towing vehicle with the ErgoMove 2000P electric drive system was developed in combination with the ergonomic cockpit with force sensors. The ergonomic control system ensures effortless maneuvering, even in confined spaces. After a six-month test phase under real production conditions, it was clear that the solution was the right one. Operators and management were equally impressed - not only by the handling, but also by the safety and good integration into the production process.

Some minor optimizations were already implemented during the test phase: The software was adapted to the specific requirements and a toggle switch is now used instead of a key switch. Four optimized systems are now in permanent and trouble-free use. The compact towing vehicle with ErgoMove makes it easy for just one person to transport the heavy double rakes. Thanks to the long battery life and the uncomplicated battery change, the system is permanently ready for use and optimally integrated into the production process.
