Cool solution for refrigerated counters
ErgoMove 2000 from Blickle ensures safe and ergonomic transportation
The customer
Movin S.r.l., based in San Quirino, Italy, develops systems for internal assembly lines and storage technology. The company's international customers come from the manufacturing, household appliance, automotive and food industries as well as the surface finishing sector.
The challenge
One of Movin's customers is a well-known French manufacturer of refrigerated counters. Until now, these were moved manually from the assembly line to the testing station, a laborious process that required considerable effort. In order to improve ergonomics and safety for employees, the company was looking for a motorized wheel system. Initially, those responsible planned to use an automated guided vehicle system. On closer inspection, however, this turned out to be too expensive.
The solution
Meanwhile, a more economical alternative was quickly found: In collaboration with Blickle, Movin proposed the use of the ErgoMove 2000 electric drive system . This is suitable for transporting loads weighing up to 2,000 kilograms at speeds of up to four kilometers per hour. Thanks to the integrated motor brake, employees can brake the 500-kilogram trolley with its 1,000-kilogram load at its destination without any effort. The integrated electromechanical dead man's brake prevents the trolley from slipping and makes it easier to stop in the event of danger. "We proposed ErgoMove to our customer and provided all the detailed information on request," explains Euro Cervesato, Executive Director at Movin. A demonstration on the company premises finally convinced the French - the order went to the project partners Movin and Blickle. To compensate for uneven floors, Movin decided to install two floor rails on which the motorized system runs to guide the trolley safely. Special solutions are also the order of the day at Blickle: thanks to a software adaptation, the trolleys move forwards at a maximum of two kilometers per hour and backwards at one. "We have limited the speeds for safety reasons. This makes braking easier and prevents the load from slipping," reports Daniel Hirschler, Sales Manager Business Unit ErgoMove at Blickle.
The French manufacturer of refrigerated counters is very satisfied with the German-Italian combination. Ergonomics have improved significantly and the physical strain on employees has been noticeably reduced. The braking solutions ensure safe transportation and the wheels run with low rolling resistance. In addition, the employees are pleased with the simple operation thanks to the intuitively arranged elements of the cockpit.
